Wow! What a year 2014 has been here at Cat Hampurr HQ, 12 months ago we were in a full swing sourcing products, designing boxes and creating this website. 8 Months, 33 great products and hundreds of subscribers later we’re looking back and reviewing how the boxes have been rated by our lovely community.

Every month shortly after Hampurrs have arrived with kitties all over the UK we post a survey on this very blog and ask subscribers what they loved the most in the box. Each product is rated on a scale of 1 – 6, anything rated under 4 won’t be included in future boxes (thankfully there haven’t been many of these!) and anything which scores highly we try to feature again.

Listed below is the top product (as rated by our subscribers) in each of our 4 categories, Toys, Treats, Wet Food and Dry Food.

Toys

Toys are always extremely popular with our subscribers, in fact 5 of the top 6 most highly rated products are all toys. We’ve had the pleasure of sourcing some beautiful products in this category, many handmade right here in the UK and almost all containing some very potent blends of catnip (all top secret recipes of course).

WINNER – The Prawn – Cheshire and Wain

The Prawn by Cheshire and Wain as featured in the August box is the most highly rated toy to appear in any of the 2014 Cat Hampurr’s! Handmade in the UK (Bournemouth to be exact) by two sisters and filled with extremely strong catnip imported from the US makes for a formidable mix.

Cheshire and Wain are a London based cat product company who have an amazing collection of toys, collars, tags and other high class accessories.

love this prawn sooo adorable, my cats loved it to, even thoughIi didn’t want to give it to them because it was too cute and I wanted to keep it

The prawn is a big hit with both cats!

This is a favourite! Made my cat go crazy!!!

Treats

Our kitties love their treats and thankfully we have a fine selection to choose from, whether it be fishy or meaty, crunchy or chewy we’ve got your back. Like all our consumable products our treats need to be a bit special and free from as many of those nasty ingredients as possible.

WINNER – Little Hearts by Vets kitchen

A pack of Little Hearts were featured all the way back in the July Cat Hampurr and to be fair they took top spot by some distance! Each pack of Little Hearts contain more than 50% meat or fish with added natural ingredients whilst being completely free of any artificial colours of flavours. We’ll be sure to include more of these treats in future boxes so keep your (cat’s) eyes pealed.

All cat owners need to know about these. Have already recommended to others. My cat comes running when I shake the bag.

Wonderful. Moss loves Dreamies but I do worry what’s in them so good to see a healthier version for my cat.

Food

Every month we dedicate a substantial portion of each box to include a high quality food product for your kitty to try out. Whilst not as exciting as the toys and treats above we believe that allowing your cat to sample a range of healthy cat foods without the commitment of purchasing in bulk (we know how fussy cats can be!) is a very important part of the Cat Hampurr service.

We take the sourcing of food very seriously and consult a pet nutritionist (and chief taster Kooki of course) before agreeing to include wet or dry food in the box. Many of the brands included are not ones you can find readily in your local pet store or the big chains which all adds to the experience.

WINNER – Wet food – Thrive Complete

The most popular wet food included in 2014 was the single serving tins from Thrive, another hit from the August box. Thrive’s “0% Nonsense” slogan really strikes a chord here at Cat Hampurr HQ and the high marks given by our subscribers are testament to the quality of the ingredients used.

So far we’ve included the Chicken breast tins (made with 100% real chicken breast) but with another 5 yummy flavours available we’ll be looking to include others in 2015.

…the empty plates when we put out the Thrive food were testament to the fact that sometimes they are unpredictable! That discount voucher is getting used!

Our cats can be a bit fussy, but they went for this straight away!

This looks like chicken! The food was gone in seconds.

WINNER – Dry Food – Fish 4 Cats

In the dry food category subscribers rated Fish 4 Cats Sardine as the most popular (we can testify that it was the most smelly!) As always Fish 4 Cats use lots of lovely fish in their food (over 65%) and we clearly have a lot of fish loving subscribers as we included rather a large bag in the July Hampurr.
